Polishing Off the Week

Hey guys,

So i wanted to create a DIY fun summer post today!

I was inspired to re-create a summer nail art look with Watermelons. (Yum!)

I would recommend these products to re-create it, because they are high-quality and long lasting.
(But of course, be creative and use whatever you have available, that't the fun thing about nail art, its unique).

How to re-create the look:

Step 1. Apply a base coat. I would recommend OPI's Infinite Shine. Leave each layer to dry, for about 5-10 minutes. If you have a Gel nail dryer, i would recommend using the 120 seconds option. But remember they will only be touch dry, so be careful for a little while longer.

Step 2. Apply two coats of Lancome's Limited edition polish, in Love.

Step 3. Apply Nars Ecume, to the lower part of the nail (as you would a french-tip) in a curved shape.

Step 4. Leaving a space as seen in the picture. Apply the Deborah Lipman shade, in Spring buds. Across the nail in a curved shaped and then wait in-between to apply the Obsessive Compulsive shade in Cosplay, in four striped motions on top.

Step 5. Apply Vinylux in Black pool. In five small dots, on to the centre part of the nail. This creates the 'pips' of the watermelon.

Step 6. Wait to dry, Then apply top coat. I would recommend CND Vinylux's Weekly Top Coat (really does stay for seven days) and leaves the nails with a high-gloss finish.

*Tip - Nail Art brushes would really help to re-create this look or any look. I would recommend, a striping tool, a marbling tool, and a small brush. There are lots of affordable, professional kits available.
