August Favourites 2015

Hey guys,

In today's post i am going to be sharing with you, everything i have been loving this month. Its a real variety of products and things, some are re-purchases and some are new discoveries!

Lets start off with something new..

1. Mac Please Me Lipstick

I have been wearing this gorgeous, nude creamy pink shade a lot this month! I just love it.

2. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

I highlight with this product in the shade 'Vanilla', i also use 'Custard'. I have used this product for a long time and absolutely love the consistency, coverage and finish it gives, so i have re-purchased it for the fourth time.

3. Mac Prep & Prime Highlight in the shade 'Light Boost'

I use this product with my Nars concealer to get my desired highlight and concealer shade. They are my dream team! I have also used this product for a long time and  i use  the shade Radiant Rose for any redness, still love it and recommend this product!

4. Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder

I have been using this for a long time, i used to use the compact but because I'm clumsy i kept dropping it and it would shatter. So i have since been using the loose powder, and it is so much easier to work with!

5. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz in 'Taupe'

So as to every girl, brows are important! I have used quite a lot of brow products. and my favourite to date is the Brow Whiz in Taupe, it makes it so easy to fill in any sparse gaps. I repurchased it this month for the third time, because my brows just weren't the same without it.

6. Filofax The Original A5 Planner in Hot Pink

I am someone who needs to be organised, especially with Uni and work. I have been preparing to start my second year, so i have been using my Filofax a lot more this month and planning ahead. I would really recommend them, the planner makes my life so much easier and not to mention it being bright and colourful, they can also be personalised in so many ways. I am planning on a university/ organisation tips post, and a Filofax review soon, so stay tuned for that!

7. Victor & Rolf Bon Bon

I am a lover of strong, fresh, sweet and sexy scents (All different, i know) If i love it, i love it. Bon Bon is a very sweet, sexy scent and i have been loving it a lot this summer. I really recommend trying this, if you like sweet scents.

8. Yankee Candle in Cappuccino Truffle

Lastly, a candle. I have a serious love for candles and recently discovered Yankee's  I am very picky when it comes to scents, but i absolutely love this one! There is normally always a candle burning in my home.

I hope you enjoyed my August Favourites, let me know below what you have been loving :-)

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit

Hello guys,

This evening's post is a review on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit! I purchased this palette a few months ago in the shade 'Light to Medium'. I have used a lot of Anastasia products previously and really liked them, they are always high quality and extremely pigmented, so i wanted to try this popular contour kit!

I have used it a lot since then and really like it. The shades are extremely pigmented and there is a lot of variation in the palette. If you are looking for a powder contour kit, i would highly recommend this one! This kit would also be great for beginners.

I think its great for day-time looks and for 'full glam' looks also, depending on when you like to contour. I use the yellow 'Banana' to set my under eye concealer and i use Java and fawn shades for contouring.

The palette consists of three highlight shades including two pink shades and a yellow shade.
And three contouring shades of brown. There are two palettes available, the light to medium, and the medium to dark. The shades are really blendable and not chalky.

The palette retails for £39 in the UK.

Shades detailed below:

I would recommend the Anastasia Beverly Hills 'powder' contour kit, if you are looking for a light contour and highlight solution and prefer powder to cream contour. I personally prefer cream contour because of the finish. There is also a cream contour kit available in three shades, which i will be reviewing and comparing soon.

I hope you guys enjoyed this review!

Becca x Jaclyn Hill 'Champagne Pop' Shimmering Skin Perfector Review

"A limited-edition, creamy, luminizing powder to illuminate the face with a soft, pearlized glow"

Hello guys,

This evening's post is a review on the recently launched Highlighter 'Champagne Pop', a collaboration between Becca and Makeup Artist and Youtube Celebrity, Jaclyn Hill.  To create a new limited edition shade of their number one best-selling luminizer powder. I absolutely love this collaboration..the highlighter is exceptional and suitable for all complexions, which is what Jaclyn wanted to achieve. I think she's really inspirational and such a genuine person, which shines through and is reflected in this product, inspired by the luxurious lightness and spirited essence of champagne.

This highlighter has been so popular among beauty bloggers, Youtubers and makeup lovers. I was really excited when this was released, and could not wait to try it and review it for you guys!

The formula of Champagne pop, is the same Becca formula used in all other Becca highlighters.  Some of my absolute favourite highlighters are by Becca. I love the consistency, the 'wet' look finish and the quality of their products.

The shade of this shimmering skin perfector is really unique and really compliments fair skin tones. it is a soft, white gold shade with pinky peach undertones. As shown in the pictures, it is simply gorgeous! Its infused with light-reflecting pearls that beautifully catch the light and leaves the skin with a soft pearlized glow.

Apply this product to targeted areas, or simply sweep it up on the cheekbones and down the bridge of the nose for quick, radiant perfection. And a little goes a long way!

The highlighter retails for  £30 in the UK.

Swatches shown below: In comparison to other popular Becca shades

Jaclyn Hill used 'Champagne Pop' to create the glow in the makeup look shown below:

Overall, i absolutely love this Shimmering Skin Perfector and would thoroughly recommend it. Please subscribe to my blog and comment below.

Be YOU

Believe in yourself
Be courageous
Be confident
Be beautiful, feel beautiful
Learn to love yourself
Appreciate your flaws, they make you, you.
Never let anyone, make you feel like your not any of the above, because you are.
Nobody's life is as fabulous as they portray on social media, remember that.

You don't have to prove anything to anyone,
and always believe in yourself, your dreams and where your going.

I hope this makes you think, appreciate and love who you are, remember life's not perfect, but learn to appreciate the journey. You may not be where you want to be, but you'll get there.

Polishing Off the Week

Hey guys,

So i wanted to create a DIY fun summer post today!

I was inspired to re-create a summer nail art look with Watermelons. (Yum!)

I would recommend these products to re-create it, because they are high-quality and long lasting.
(But of course, be creative and use whatever you have available, that't the fun thing about nail art, its unique).

How to re-create the look:

Step 1. Apply a base coat. I would recommend OPI's Infinite Shine. Leave each layer to dry, for about 5-10 minutes. If you have a Gel nail dryer, i would recommend using the 120 seconds option. But remember they will only be touch dry, so be careful for a little while longer.

Step 2. Apply two coats of Lancome's Limited edition polish, in Love.

Step 3. Apply Nars Ecume, to the lower part of the nail (as you would a french-tip) in a curved shape.

Step 4. Leaving a space as seen in the picture. Apply the Deborah Lipman shade, in Spring buds. Across the nail in a curved shaped and then wait in-between to apply the Obsessive Compulsive shade in Cosplay, in four striped motions on top.

Step 5. Apply Vinylux in Black pool. In five small dots, on to the centre part of the nail. This creates the 'pips' of the watermelon.

Step 6. Wait to dry, Then apply top coat. I would recommend CND Vinylux's Weekly Top Coat (really does stay for seven days) and leaves the nails with a high-gloss finish.

*Tip - Nail Art brushes would really help to re-create this look or any look. I would recommend, a striping tool, a marbling tool, and a small brush. There are lots of affordable, professional kits available.

Nail polish details, in order of application:

Base Coat of choice - OPI, Infinite Shine.

Lancome, Limited edition Nail Colour, In Love (French Paradise Collection)

Nars, Ecume (white)

Deborah Lipman, Nail Colour in Spring Buds

Obsessive Compulsive, Nail colour in Cosplay

CND Vinylux, Nail Colour in Black Pool

Top Coat of choice - CND Vinylux, Weekly Top Coat

I hope you enjoyed this DIY Summer nail tutorial. If you have any questions, please leave them below. Tweet me with pictures if you re-create the look, would love to see them! :-)

Enjoy,

Sure Maximum Protection Anti-perspirant Review

Hello guys,

Today i am going to be reviewing my new Sure maximum protection anti-perspirant, I purchased it because i have seen rave reviews about it, and wanted to try it out for myself!

I usually use Women's Mitchum advanced spray and Stick formula. Because it offers 48 hour protection and anti-white marks. My favourite scents are Shower Fresh and Flower Fresh but wanted to try something new.  I still absolutely love them and will continue to use them.

i am always looking for an anti-perspirant which offers a long-lasting scent and maximum protection, especially as my job as a therapist, which is very busy and i'm always rushing around.

Sure's product promise:

"Sure Maximum protection provides our most advanced, long-lasting protection against wetness and odour, yet is gentle enough for everyday use"

I believe the product completely lives up to and exceeded these expectations.

There are six different versions of the stick deodorant:

They retail for £4.99 in the UK. And can be purchased from, Boots, Superdrug and Asda.

Source: Sure

- A clean, bright scent with fresh apple and hints of rose and jasmine.

Source: Sure

- Calming Lavender and white flower scent. Extra moisturisers help prevent skin irritation.
*My Chosen choice*

Source: Sure

- A vibrant, citrusy fragrance. Extra moisturisers help prevent skin irritation.

Source: Sure

- A fresh, white scent with extra moisturisers to help prevent skin irritation.

Source: Sure

- An elegant, green scent. Extra moisturisers help prevent skin irritation.

Source: Sure

- A bright, fruity zing on creamy vanilla. Extra moisturisers help prevent skin irritation.

I chose the Stress Control version because it has stress-activated ingredients for proven sweat protection. And i have to say i really like its fresh scent, its cooling to apply and the recommended dosage is two clicks per underarm, which i find is sufficient. I also like the fact the anti-perspirant has been dermatologically tested to ensure can be used on sensitive skin and i personally applied it in the morning.

The features of this product are:

* It offers 48 hour protection

* Sure recommend for maximum protection it be applied to underarms before going to bed, because it is best activated by your body's raising temperature.

* TRIsolid formula which provides maximum protection

* The cream formula and technology  provide a deep protective layer across your sweat glands.

*Continuos all day odour protection

* Extra-protective deodorant

*Long-lasting fragrance

*Skin moisturising ingredients

*Increased active ingredients to combat excessive sweating

Half way through the day i did apply more perfume as you do, but i didn't feel the need to re-apply any more deodorant which is great, normally i do. I have found i slightly prefer it to my Mitchum Advanced stick deodorant (unscented) because it i like the way it applies more, its more hydrating  and i felt more protected. I will continue to use the Sure anti-perspirant and also use the Mitchum spray deodorant.

Overall, i am very impressed with this anti-perspirant, it is not always that i find one that really works for me. I genuinely feel it is really long-lasting and has a great fresh scent. I think the right deodorant is important, it makes you feel more confident and secure. If you are looking to try a new anti-perspirant i would highly recommend you try this one.

I hope you enjoyed this review,
