Mac x Philip Treacy High-Light Powder Review

Source: Google

Hello guys,

Todays post is a review of Mac and Philip Treacy Highlight powder,

As you may or may not know, i love a good highlight! So much that it has actually become a personal joke between my friends and i. (imagine the infamous Instagram high-light on 'fleek' picture,  afraid that's so me). But high-light completes the look, makes us feel good and who doesn't love a glow. Whether its under the eyes, or above the cheekbone, highlight is a great way to create a glow and brighten areas of the face that we want to bring attention to. There are many techniques, contour and highlight, strobing. Anyway, I'm sure you get the idea..

For a while now, i have been searching for an every day natural 'powder' high-light, for when i want a subtle  glow, to complete an every day makeup look. And For when i don't have time for full glam and my usual 'wet' highlight.  Well, i have finally found the product which is the Nude Pink high-light powder from this collection! And i have found, as with most highlighters, a little goes a long way.

Mac Cosmetics and designer Philip Treacy. London's leading Haute couture hat designer, i believe they represent a unique partnership. Treacy took inspiration from his work to create a fantastic collection.

This collaboration consists of two limited edition high-light powder shades, three lipsticks,  a mascara, a new fluid line and paint pot shade (Breathe). In this post, i am going to be reviewing the High-light powders, in the shades Nude Pink and Blush Pink.

Nude Pink is a champagne and light pink shade to create a subtle glow. The blush Pink is a light pink shade, both have a slight silver shimmer to them and they can both also be used for a subtle blush. The Nude Pink is my favourite out of the two shades. They are very similar as you can see from the swatches below,  but i prefer the nude because its something a little bit different.

They retail for £23 each in the UK, and $32 in the US.

Overall, i really like these high-light powders. They are extremely pigmented and are great for creating a subtle glow. I would recommend them if you are looking for an every day subtle high-light.

I hope you enjoyed this review, and it helps if you were looking to purchase some or just curious.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick Review

Hello Fashionistas,

Today's post is another lip product review!

So recently a lot of brands have released a version of  Matte Liquid lipsticks, applies like a lipgloss, but stays like a lipstick and looks like a lipstick. And you don't need to use a lip liner.

Anastasia Beverly Hills's product have been quite the craze, especially these!  They are loved by celebrity makeup artists, fellow beauty bloggers and Youtubers. And i  can see why, not only do they have a fantastic array of colours available,  to suit everyone, but they are very reasonably priced for a high-end luxury product. (They retail at $20, US and around £13 in the UK.)

I am going to be reviewing the latest range of Fall colours to be released.

There are ten new Matte shades. Including pinks, nudes, brights and even some gorgeous dark colours, i love the variety of this intense collection!

There really is something for everyone.

All shades are permanent except from, Midnight, Paint and Sorbet. And i genuinely cannot choose my favourites, i love them all.

But i do think Sorbet, Dusty Rose and Blush would be perfect for everyday wear.

So the formula of these liquid lipsticks is extremely pigmented and i find they last a long time which is what most people want in a lip product.

And especially for someone who works really long hours and needs staying power!

They can be quite drying on the lips as with every liquid lipstick out there, so i would recommend exfoliating before, and moisturising.

As with every Anastasia product i have tried, they are very high quality and provide full coverage.

Shades of the collection:

Blush - Bright Pink, Pomegranate shade

Sorbet - Cantaloupe shade, Orange toned, Milky
               (Darker looking in packaging)

Dusty Rose - Brown nude shade, pink undertone,
                 (much lighter than shown)

Veronica - Browny nude shade, darker than shade above
                               (purple undertone)

Sugar Plum Fairy - Hot pink, berry shade. More pink than shown.

Sepia - Modern taupe, brown undertone

Trust Issues - Mulberry hue, brown undertone, darkest brown of the collection

Sarafine - True red, orange undertone, similar to American Doll but darker  (Cool toned)

Paint - Cobalt blue, glossier than shown, super slick

Midnight - True Onyx black, as shown

Overall, i really love the collection, Anastasia continually creates something new and very different,  and this fall collection is no exception.

I really recommend them, they are exactly as portrayed, and if you do decide to purchase some you will not be disappointed. There are shades to suit everyone and to create a variety of makeup looks.

They are available to purchase from Anastasia Beverly Hills official website and selected Macy stores from the 26th July.

Mac x Giambattista Valli Lipstick Collection Review

Hey guys,

Mac Cosmetics and Couture fashion designer, Giambattista Valli, have teamed together to create a fabulous collection of lipsticks, they are in limited supply and there release has been long-awaited. Valli's inspiration for the collection was flowers, and he also wanted to create hues that fit any kind of personality, which i think he has achieved.

The collection consists of five timeless matte shades. Each with chromatic bright lipstick exteriors to match each shade. The floral packaging of the lipsticks is something very different and creates an air of elegance and sophistication.

The collection also includes an opalescent lipgloss. Which can transform the matte shades into a high-gloss finish. I really like this element, it makes the colours even more versatile and wearable for any occasion, and who doesn't like to mix it up!

Collection overview:

Lipstick in Bianca, £17 - Nude pink (white undertone)

Lipstick in Margherita, £17 -Peach (Yellow undertone)

Lipstick in Tats, £17 - Hot Pink

Lipstick in Charlotte, £17 - Red (Yellow undertone)

Lipstick in Eugenie, £17 - Dark Cherry (blue undertone)
(In my opinion, more of a coco-cola shade)

Crystal Glaze Gloss, £19 - Clear pearlescent finish

Product Swatches (left to right) Bianca B, Tats, Margherita, Charlotte, Eugenie

Out of the collection, my personal favourites are Tats (because I'm a sucker for pink) and this is the perfect hot pink shade, especially for hot summer nights.

My second favourite is Margherita. I have been looking for a peachy summer shade, and Margherita is fantastic!  The lipsticks are all easy to work with, and the only shade i would definitely recommend a lip liner with is Bianca, B, i have used Mac lip liner in boldly bare.

And of course, we cannot forget Charlotte, it is a timeless red, and in my opinion extremely versatile, and suitable for cool toned and warm toned complexions. These shades Easily teamed with a natural everyday makeup look for someone who wants a pop of colour! And i can imagine these teamed with a gorgeous smokey eye makeup look.

Overall i am very much obsessed with this collection. The best part being every shades can be rocked all year round.

Mac continually provide high end unique products, and this collection is definitely one of my most favourite! I think the packaging is so chic and stylish and the shades are a true match.

*tip * Because the shades are matte i would recommend exfoliating and moisturising your lips a little while before applying your chosen shade, to achieve the best finish and to ensure its long-lasting!

I hope you enjoyed this review.

Bye for now,

GeorgiaBlue xx

Ps. Also obsessed with the floral element..
